Services Provided By Santé Occupational Therapy

Santé provides services to a wide range of children and abilities. These include

1) Children in Mainstream Schools

Is the child not performing to their potential at home or at school? Does the child appear lazy or unmotivated? Are you concerned about the child's self-esteem and level of confidence? Do you have a niggling thought that something is just 'not quite right'? Areas affected include:

• attention and concentration
• balance and co-ordination
• reading and handwriting, spelling and maths
• personal organization, self-care e.g. dressing / use of cutlery
• social skills
• behaviour and control of emotions

Santé Occupational Therapy aims to provide:

a Key to understanding the nature of the child

a Key to ways of nurturing and developing the child

a Key for the child to develop self-awareness and self-belief to get the most out of life.

2) Children with a diagnosis.

Parents of children with a diagnosis would sometimes value the extra support at home to work through behaviour or independence issues that are important to them as a family. Discussion between therapist and family would decide what would be the most valuable input and when this input is required. Advice on suitable equipment or house adaptations is also available.

3) Training and Consultancy Service

Anne-Laure is able to offer a specialist service based on Sensory Integration Theory, to advise on difficulties seen in schools. Work in the class with the teacher/assistant is available. A tailored service for a school/club can be offered to meet specific requirements.
